The exit from Badlands and the South Dakota plains brought me into the Rockies and a number of fascinating parks and monuments strung throughout South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana.  I spent two full days driving from Badlands to Glacier National Park in northwestern Montana.  The highlight of these two days involved a drive through the Beartooth Pass.  A beautiful and curvy mountain road runs through the pass and into the northeastern entrance of Yellowstone.  I also learned a valuable driving lesson on the pass: if you drive with your window down for long enough, a bee will fly into your car, and that bee will be the largest bee you have ever seen in your life.

Other highlights from the drive included Mt. Rushmore, Devil's Tower, Little Bighorn, and of course, Yellowstone (which I only visited for the afternoon given that I had been there before).
