Not sure what to do, I return to my hotbox of a room and sleep/sweat it out through the night. Someone forgot their glasses case so I figured I'd McGyver (spelling?) one out of a semi-rigid water bottle. But, I need a knife to cut the top off so I can slide the glasses inside. Simple enough. Do I have a knife? Of course not. So, I go a-hunting. I hear someone rustling around and their door is open...it's a youngish man packing up. I ask for the knife and sure enough, he's more prepared than I. Turns out he speaks great English as he's a Canadian from Vancouver
And, while we're at it, I can't believe I just said "I'm waiting to cross the Cambodian border in the morning"!!! The digs here in Trat are nice...another fan room, but, now wait for it....you'll never guess...my own private bathroom WITH toilet paper and hot water (although the hot water is not really any use since all you dream of all day is a cold shower to wash the sticky sweat from your crying body). All of this for the pricey rate of 175 Baht which equals a hefty ~$5.75 USD. Don't get too excited for me yet, as I had to spend almost $10 in taxi fees today trying to get to the right freakin bus station to get to this city...I feel like I'm on a video game quest with people trying to give you information all the time, but you never know which is real or a ploy. That and the Thailand Lonely Planet 2007 version is just plain wrong now.
I'm signing off now to go figure out when the hell the bus leaves for Cambodia in the morning...(and sorry if this wasn't as witty, pretty tired today...maybe the jet lag catching up to me).
Oh yeah, and one final thing...thanks for all the comments yesterday...really nice to read the supportive words!
