So here's the deal-
Right now I'm in the tiny little desert city of Dunhuang where there is little else to do but hang out in an internet cafe, which is conveniently across from our hotel.
Here's the blog situation.
I get to Beijing, after a few days go into Word and write this great blog entry with photos about my first few days in Beijing. Then I try to load in on my blog on the Eblogger site. I discover that the People's Republic of China has decided to ban that website and I can't post my blog.
So later a find this website and create a blog. Then I go to try and enter my blog from my laptop and my laptop dies. It died before I left, I got it fixed, but apparently it wasn't really fixed. Then I had to leave for the Silk Road trip.
So when I get back I will hopefully get my laptop fixed so I can load up all my photos from this 16 day Silk Road trip. I will try to load my Beijing entry too, but I'll have so much from this trip it may be a little much. We'll see what happens. Let's hope my computer can be fixed.
So, yea, I swear the Chinese government broke my computer, but they can't silence me! Let's hope this blog isn't censored....
Silk Road update:
It's the fifth day of the trip...I think....We took a 12 hour overnight train ride to arrive here in Dunhuang. Tomorrow we camp out in the Gobi desert and wake up early to ride camels. So far we've been to Urumqi and Turpan, all cities in the far west of China. The last two cities were interesting in that it didn't feel like China. They cities have many minority groups who are Muslim and look more Middle Eastern or Russian. I honestly felt more like I was in Pakistan rather than China.
Anyways, there will be a giant entry when I get back to Beijing talking all about the trip and hopefully will have pictures. Until then.
