Visa Run time...ready for an early morning pickup. Showered night before so I could get up and go. No bags req'd. Supposed to be picked up at 5:50 but driver was there 5:40 - good thing I was ready, otherwise he would have done a loop and would have had to meet him elsewhere.

First row in the Minibus - brooyah - most leg room and window seat. Went to pickup others who weren't ready (grrrrrrr) so we were delayed in leaving. These are the people you want to slap up the side of the head....it's called courtesy to be on time douche bags! Everybody was finally loaded up and off we went...first stop was a gas station and the chronic smokers were outside puffing away (seriously, it's only been 45 minutes). Soooo glad I'm not addicted to that toxic crap.

Next stop was for breaky!! Grabbed some Thai food and the lady said very spicy when I selected the red curry - oddly enough nobody else selected it. It was spicy, but it was nummmmy! The cooks were impressed, unbeknownst to me (guy sitting in the van next to me indicated as such).

There were squatter toilets at this stop!!! I barely had to pee, but went to use one anyways cause the first time I came to Thailand those toilets were quite common but they aren't so much anymore.

Ride was uneventful and about 4 hours later we were approaching Ranong and headed to a pier. Here we gave up our passports to tour guide after filling out the departure forms, then once returned, proceeded to depart out of Thailand. Once again handed them all over the to guide and proceeded to board a very awesome old wooden boat from the stinky pier lol.

Boat ride over was awesome and it was yet any sunny day. The ride was maybe 30 minutes long and I helped a senior fella from Luxemburg fill out his 'arrivals' form. If you watch the show survivor, you know what the waters look like and the amazing fauna (once you are out in the open area of the sea of course). It's just like that really, incredibly beautiful.

Arrived at the Myanmar pier and off to the port of entry to get our stamps. The guy gave us a whopping 10 minutes to shop for anything. Apparently smokes and booze are cheap here. didn't need any of the above, so donated 100THB to a pregnant lady with kids who was not expecting it.

Back on the boat we go and back to the Thailand side. Got our stamp back in and guide pointed out it was for an extra 15 days only (what???). Damn lesson #1, if you want a 30 day tourist visa extension you must travel by Air somewhere. Lesson number two, I should have wait 2 more days to be closer to my 30 day mark cause I'm gonna have to end up spending 500-1000THB for my extra 1-2 days over and above my Next Visa extension. All good, no worries. No worries, guess Cambodia is in the cards on Jan 21st for probably all of 10 minutes.

Ride back was uneventful and stopped for an amazing lunch on the way back. Also 2 more pit stops at gas stations for folks. At one of them I noticed a couple of really skinny dogs, so bought some chicken from a vendor and fed each of them. One had clearly just given birth, so she was my priority. Happy puppies and happy Jan!

Back to the hotel and was surprisingly quite tired after a full day. Started out at 5:30 and was dropped off at 8:00. Went for  a bite to eat, then back to the apartment to relax. Probably fell asleep around 11:30. Excellent day!!!
