Julie and I decided to eat lunch at a restaurant today and order Paella. We found a little café close to school and decided on the Paella con Marisco. Marisco is seafood, I know I'm not a huge fan of sea food, but it was really good! When you order Paella, you always order it with something, such as meat, vegetables, seafood, etc. and it comes mixed in rice and a sauce. Maria made it once, but it tasted different so I am assuming you can change the sauce. After lunch we decided to get a dulces again, but split it. At night I went to the botallon with Julie, Jackie, Cody, and Sally, and then to the Chupiteria. On our way home we saw Carly, Courtney, and a few others in a pizza place, so of course we had to buy a slice, or two. Yes, everything does revolve around food here.
Today Julie, Jackie, Mark, and I went on a tour through the CLM called "Granada Barroca." It was a walking tour and we eventually ended up at the "Chuch of San Juan." It was really weird; we had to go thru a hospital to get inside of it. It was huge! The church was full of gold, statues, carvings, paintings, and much more! Afterwards, Julie, Jackie, and I decided Mark needed a makeover. We went shopping and made him try on outfits that we picked out. It was a lot of fun, kind of like having our own life-sized Ken. Well, he walked out with a new pair of jeans and two shirts; job well done.
Since it was Sunday I slept until lunch. Afterwards, Julie and I tried to study in the park, but I kept getting distracted and people watching; go figure. I decided to at least be somewhat productive and go for a run. I got back to mi casa, but my computer distracted me once again, and by the time I was done on the internet Julie came back and said she, Courtney, and Carly were going for churros con chocolate. I couldn't resist.
Today in class we went on another excursion with Inma, this time to a bar/café, not a restaurant (Inma corrected me after I called it a restaurant). The whole purpose of it was to get us speaking Spanish in an everyday setting. I ordered a café con leche, in other words coffee and milk. Julie ordered Pan Tostada con Tomate. It was two pieces of toasted french bread topped with butter, tomatoes, and seasoning. It reminded me of brachette. Inma ordered Tea con Leche, tea with milk. My whole class looked at her funny and asked if she ever drinks tea with water. She said sometimes, but it is more common to have it with milk. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I go out for breakfast.
Tuesday we took our final exam for the Intensive Language Course. It was two packets, one two pages long and one three. Overall, it went fine.
