I just hit the hottest night of clubbing I've had, ever. All meanings of the word included. I won't go into the details, but, suffice it to say, wow! Points for Patricia, the bar on a boat and major points to a hot, young couple comprised of a Swede and a Pole!

I do have to be amused at the fact that, just hours after writing an entry wherein I mentioned not eating McDonald's again for a while, I definitely sat down with a McChicken meal. The thing is, when you leave the club at 04.00, that's pretty much the only thing open. I ended up killing a good hour there, chatting with a Swedish architect who'd also been to the bar. He was really into world cinema and told me about all these movies from around the world he loved. Mostly I listened because I'm rather uncultured, but we did, oddly enough, chat about Cube. You have to love how that's one of the major Canadian films seen around the globe.

This brought me to 05.00, which, thankfully enough, is the time the Stockholm subway starts up again. This worked out wonderfully as, although I've been told the streets of Stockholm are quite safe (and they do feel as such), I wasn't looking forward to walking home, especially since it was raining. Speaking of the subway, there was this older gentleman snoozing in the back and he totally had one of those mustaches that curls up on the ends. These were seriously perfect circles about the size of a nickel. Admittedly, it made me laugh a little inside to actually see that in person.

This morning was also the first time I've seen anything but hot, gorgeous sun in this city. I have to say, though, walking from the subway station to the hostel in this rain was completely refreshing. It was a light shower, totally bright out, and there was even a bright, vivid rainbow in the sky. It was a really perfect way to end the night and, technically, I suppose, begin the day. I really am falling more and more in love with this city.

Right now I'm almost finished re-reading Hero. I've devoured it twice now. While it'll never be considered a great work of literature, I have to say that I love it. It's about this young man who realizes he has superpowers and he's also gay. It definitely hits on two of my major fantasies: having superpowers and being in a loving relationship. Needless to say, I'm sure I'll be re-reading it at least once more before the end of the trip.

Back on the subway note, I realized I didn't have my 72-hour pass on me. Thankfully the guy at the gate just let me through, but I'm a little worried. It's not exactly cheap. I'm hoping when I get into my dorm it'll still be on the bedside table, even though I distinctly remember showing it to a woman in the booth on the way to the bar. Better to have lost the pass, however, than something important like my credit or debit cards.

Random note: I've had an odd bite-like thing near my knee since France. It got itchy again on the way home. Not fun. I didn't really like the hostel I was in, but I hope it wasn't a bedbug or something that bit me. Either way, it's gotten more red, but for the moment I'll assume it's from my recent scratching of the area. Now, go away tiny bite of doom. Go away. Amanda, I may need your help in wishing it away. It worked when you did it for my sore throat, so cast your powers onto the random bite of doom, okay?

It's definitely time I headed off to bed. I'd planned to attend a couple of the EuroPride seminars in the early afternoon, but it seems I'll likely be sound asleep while they're on. I definitely do not want to wear myself out. I think I'll be staying in for the nights the rest of my stay in Stockholm. There really aren't any other parties, aside from one on Wednesday (but I'm not about to party the day before I leave), so I think I'll be keeping it more low-key for the rest of the week.
