Where I stayed

Paris is still Paris. The city seems okay, but I still feel lonely here. I hung out with a random American last night, but on the way from the bar to the Metro, we got mocked by a Parisian couple who heard us speaking English. They broke out into selections from Grease for a bit. I've really been hoping the thing about the French being rude would be an exaggeration, but thus far, it's not.

Today I had an awesome sandwich for breakfast (brie and celery and other stuff) and I went on one of the free tours. It was kind of nice seeing some sights, though this will likely be my only 'tourist day,' but I didn't really connect with someone in the group like I'd been hoping and everyone seemed to not be interested in getting together after or anything of the sort. I hope this changes pretty quickly because I've been able to meet people in Dublin and Ireland really easily. If not, it'll be a lonely few days until I trek up to Stockholm.

Right now, I'll be hitting the 'net; hoping to find someone local to have a coffee with tonight or tomorrow. Otherwise, I may charge my iPod or try to do some laundry tonight. After a 4-hour walking tour, I'm a little too tired to be wandering on my own this eve, so if I have to stay in, it won't be a major loss.

we go together like...
i'm sorry that you were mocked, but you've got to admit: the way they did it was pretty cute.

and, in defense of my people, it can be hard to stay cordial when you like in a tourist-trap. especially during peak season.

anyway, i'm glad that i finally got a chance to check up on your travels. go justen!
