My second full day in London and I've done...nothing. Well, almost. I got up after 10.00 and wandered to an internet café, then spent much of the afternoon in a bookshop. It's been raining today and that kind of killed my mood to visit the British National Museum. Besides, there's supposed to be so much there you can't possibly see it in a day, and I'd only have until 17.30 when it closes. Plus, after running around yesterday, I want to just relax. Weird, huh? I've been waiting for this trip so long, London especially, and all I want to do today is relax. I may be strolling to another bookshop for another novel (my backpack is going to get heavy with literature!).
I mean, yes, this is all exciting, but if I said to myself, "Self, you only have X number of days in London," well, I could say that for every city and be running around all day, every day frantically trying to 'make the most' of my trip. Plus, with Jon and Nick tomorrow and Saturday, I'm sure I'll be kept busy. We're supposed to catch 'Billy Elliot' tomorrow (!!) and head out to G-A-Y at the Astoria on Saturday night! So excited! I'm sure we'll have tonnes of stuff to do in the interim, anyway, even if it's just hanging out and chatting. (If you can't tell, people aren't near as friendly here, so it's been hard spending so much time just on my own.)
I did, however, go out last night. Hung out with a couple Canadian guys and an American girl. We spent about an hour trying to find a pub that was still open and, lo and behold, we end up stumbling onto a gay bar with 20 minutes left to have a drink! It was a nice way to end the night, but they're all gone now. Actually, the Canadians headed to Paris this morning and couldn't even book a train. Thankfully, they told me about it and last night when we got back, I booked my train to Paris and still managed to get a seat. Phew!
Wow. I really tend not to follow grammatical rules in these entries.

Yay!
A live production of Billy Elliot, you mean? That's fantastic!
The way I travel is pretty similar (for the little amount I've done). I don't like to rush. When I was in New York, I would wake up between 9-10a, walk around, take a long lunch (read or listen to the people around me), do some sight-seeing, take a long supper, walk around, go to the hostel/internet cafe, go to bed. There were a couple things I missed, but in the end it didn't feel exhausting.
Glad you're having a good trip and I hope the weather smartens up in your favour. :)
Go dancing boy!
Eeee Billy Elliot!!!!!!! You will definitely have to post how that goes!!! Yay for relaxing in London!
