My flight went well. There weren't many people on the plan so I got to spread out on three seats and sleep. Amazing! I exchanged money, went through immigration, got my bags (There were two other people waiting for purple luggage. What are the chances?) went through customs, and BAM got in a cab. The driver didn't speak much English and I couldn't convince him that "No, I am not going to a hotel. I am going to an apartment." But he spoke over the phone with Ali, the current intern, and we figured it out.

So here I am (...rockin like a hurricane). Amman, Jordan. At like 4:00 in the morning. Chillin in a pretty large apartment listening to the call to prayer from the nearby mosque. I am currently kind of wiggin out with arrival anxiety. The two women here had more Arabic skills when they arrived than I have and apparently the organization I will be working with really doesn't have time to help orient their interns. Yikes. I remember feeling similarly when I arrived in Thailand but at least we had an orientation program, host families, and each other... but mei pen rei as we would say then. I am sure everything will work out. For now I need to get some sleep. I am actually not very tired since I slept a lot on the plane rides I need to calm my nerves with some shut eye. Who knows? Maybe I will end up passed out for like twelve hours. If not I plan on heading to the office with Rebecca, the other intern, to see what it's all about. Good night all!
