Hi All,
Well it is about time for us to be moving on to our next destination. We have enjoyed our stay here in Hudson Fla, but we think we prefer the East coast better. The main highway here is US #19. The traffic is horrendous. June remembers reading that it is considered one of the most dangerous highways in the nation. I can believe it. Hudson beach is real nice to look at, but there are signs "No swimming". I believe because of high germ count. But not exactly swimming weather for most part either. I liked the building there, some pictures are attached. The miniture houses were very eye catching. We made a trip down below Tampa to Bradenton to check out some campgrounds for future reference. A couple looked promising. We also stopped by a power plant just below Tampa. It was a cold day and several manatees were in the area because of the warm water from the power plant.
We had a nice trip down Gulf Blvd to John's Pass Village. We stopped at a Dunkin Donuts near Clearwater beach and had a nice view back toward Clearwater. John's Pass is a very popular tourist destination and even tho this was a weekday, parking was at a premium. In fact June had to stand in a parking place while I went and turned the truck around to drive in that space! The "RV Resort" here is nice, but definitely not a "campground". I would guess that it is 90% permanent trailers, mostly what are called "park models", with the added sun rooms they resembled doublewide trailers. It is more like a retirement community. The roads are paved. It is exactly 1 mile around the the park, so I had an easy time keeping my exercise program going.
Although we miss everyone up North, we certainly do enjoy the warm weather down here. No, we are not ready to give up full-timing yet. We will be leaving here on March 6 and going to Sanford, Fla. Sanford is located just north east of Orlando. We will be there until April 6. Our address will be: Town and Country RV Resort 5355 Orange Blvd. Sanford, FL 32771 tel #407-323-5540 Take Care everybody, our love to all, The Happy Wanders More thumbnails ...
