Arrived into Kathmandu the other day. Have to admit it was a relief to have left India. After spending 3 weeks in McLeod Ganj getting back into Delhi was full on. Went to see the Taj Mahal on a big tour bus. When it reached, we were told cos we'd paid extra we would get a special tour. Fell for it hook line sinker like stupid tourists and got off the bus away from the rest of the group. We then had to follow this autorickshaw guy around 3 shops in the hope we'd spend some money. Little did he know he was dealing with a Chong. Finally got to the Taj Mahal and it was rammed full of Indians cos it was a national holiday. Rather than being romantic we got stressed out and both of us were in foul moods. After re joining with our tour bus we then got told we still had 2 more temples to visit. So we ended up getting back to Delhi at 2.30am.

Anyway, so now we're in Nepal which is incredibly touristy, but actually a nice change. Nepalese bands singing Nirvana, Bob Marley and Pearl Jam. It reminds me a lot of Bali - minus the nobhead aussies.

Lots of fake stuff to be bought too with everywhere selling fake North Face gear. Today we booked to go white water rafting for 3 days and also trekking for a week, so we leave for that in a few days. Will be nice to see some mountains. Thinking of climbing Everest, but I don't have the footwear.

Will hopefully have some nice photos of the Anapurna Himalayan mountain range for the next entry.
