Hello, made it to Melbourne. Liz met me at the airport and drove me to her house in Terang past some traditional Australian fayre, (bushfires and koala road signs), then her parents cooked tea on a barbie and we drank wine; bonza!!!
Tomorrow we hit the Great Ocean Drive...
Hiya, am still alive and about to head for Canberra, had no internet for a few days, but hopefully update some photo's tomorrow...
Right well beginning with the great ocean drive, got to see real, wild koala's, it took us an hour to spot one and then we saw loads, had to head off the great ocean drive slightly toward a gum tree paradise and there they all were, asleep in the trees, absoluely gorgeous. Liz soon warned me against trying to cuddle one though, apparantly they are not as docile as they look. We eventually got to Liz's sisters in Melbourne at 11pm, after driving around for 2 hours including a nice detour to the airport, because Liz refused to follow my directions apparantly she doesn't trust my sense of direction-ha
The next couple of days we wandered around Melbourne, up the Rialto tower, shopped, visited Dame Edna's house at the art centre, mooched around galleries and museums (recommend the melbourne museum which has everything including the (neighbours) kitchen sink), took trams, had a fab chocolate lunch at the KOKOblack cafe and visited the casino (where I lost my money in record time at the roulette table, am sticking to the 2cent 'pokies' in future!)
The weather was fairly cool, even had some rain, so still not experienced the aussie summer yet.
As Liz and her sister were going to see a sold out Kylie concert on my last night I got a ticket to see Jason Alexander (of Seinfeld fame) at the casino, was a good show the 3 of us had a really nice meal in china town before going our seperate ways and I then met up with Liz and Sarah after our respective shows and we headed home. Home by the way was Moodie Ponds, home of Dame Edna!
