We got in at 3pm and by 6pm we had taken an orientation walked, booked at tour and we were meeting the walking 'Beer and Brewery' tour at the office. Nice going. (Almost German efficiency.)
There were about 20 people on the beer tour and our guide was an american called Eric. We started at an Austinera beer house to taste their brew. Ashley had a wheat beer but it was too rough for me so I stuck with the cleaner light beer (light in taste not in alcohol or calories).
Then it was on to a micro brewery where we tried another 3 different beers
From here it was off to the Hofbrauhaus with the long tables and LOUD oompah music. Here tg beers came in 1L glasses. We had a dark beer (bit like an old). We had lost about 4 of our group before we got there and now the rest of the group seemed settled in for a long night so at 11pm Ashley and I left and walked back to our hotel.
Next day we set off sight seeing. You can look at the pictures. We did find a whole group surfing in the local park. The weir sets up a standing wave and these surfers are here summer and winter. It seems a cross between skateboarding and surfing. It was a bloody hot day (again!) and the Munich population (munchkins??) we're making us of the local park. It looked like great funny and I seriously considered going in fully clothed. The trip back in the bus wet put me off. The water charges down the channel and it is great for floating or lylowing. There were lots of people in the park. We say and had a beer in the ubiquitous beer garden. Very refreshing. Later there was a thunderstorm so hopefully that cools things down.
