It still windy! We haven't done much other than Kitesurf everyday. The water temperate is warm enough to wear boardshorts and rash vest, but the other nationalities think we are 'crazy british' for not wearing full wetsuits. I think perhaps they should try kitesurfing in British waters this time of year, and then they would understand.
One day however we needed a rest so Antonio, our favourite taxi driver, took us spear fishing at Ponta Preta. Luckily for me he only had 3 spear guns, one for James, El Loco, and himself. I was camera person, fish-pointer-outer and spent a lot of time patrolling to ensure the pretty fish weren't being caught....he he.
It was a day with hardly any swell which made it a good day for fishing with excellent visibility underwater. James' technique involved diving down level to the fish and looking them in the eye before shooting them. A gym, cabo verde style

El Loco's technique involved a more hit and miss approach, ie I expect he shot the spear gun 20 times for each fish he caught. With that in mind it was amusing to see that they both caught the same amount of fish - 10 each. Antonio was so pleased with the days catch that he gave up 10 of the fish for us to barbeque. He was also kind enough to make a special super spicey chilli sauce for the fish, in fact he gave us a whole bottle to take home. Yummy.
On another trip with Antonio we drove over a sand dune and got his pick-up truck well and truly sunk in the sand. It took us about 30 mins to dig under the wheels and make a road of rocks and pebbles. All Antonio could say was 'two weeks ago there was no sand here....'
Tomorrow I think we will be kitesurfing some more...
