Jude spent some time in the morning doing John Powell museum in Green River whilst I sat in the car plotting our course. She had the interest having read a book about him doing the trip down the Colorado. Me and museums? Yah - next?
Goblin Valley was our next port of call along the way. Now THIS is one weird place. The rocks, like on most places, have been shaped by the wind in such a way, but there are so many in one spot as to make it look like an area full of aliens!
We didn't stay too long because the wind was blowing a gale - not good for the contact lenses - and it was as cold as all get out.
Leaving Goblin Valley, we took a dirt road through the San Rafael Swell - interesting geology - and made our way to Salt Lake City. On the way, we encountered rain, hail and snow. SNOW! YIPPPEEEE! There was snow all around the mountains today and it was just coming down on the car when we stopped for petrol! Love it! But somehow, we don't quite feel dressed for it. Looked really daft pulling into the petrol station - everyone in their winter woolies and us in our shorts and fleece top!
