Before leaving Flagstaff we did a bit of a walk around town and then went into Barnes and Noble, this huge bookstore to get ourselves a better Atlas than the one we had. Fantastic prices. That was followed by an ice cream in honour of Jacq who loved Dairy Queen - which was just next door. As we ate we remembered the woman sitting in the back seat telling us she wanted an ice cream but was not content with one from the petrol station. No, she had to have Dairy Queen. And good reason too - they are rather nice!
A really long drive from Flagstaff to Albuquerque and very boring. Flat and totally uninteresting. As we drove further and further through New Mexico, we found ourselves wondering whether we had done the right thing to come this way because there really was nothing to see. What we did notice however were the amount of goods trains and trucks moving along the route. It was totally amazing. And the length of the trains .... wow, they went on for ages.
Exciting though - WALMART. Just when we had given up hope of seeing anything interesting, our favourite store comes into view in Grants - Walmart! So in we hop but boy were we disappointed. Dirty! The first time ever! What have we come to?
