We are still in Vegas which is fine anyway coz really, you could not do Vegas in any less time - not if you want to see quite a bit of stuff. These hotels are absolutely amazing! Today we decided to hop aboard a trolley and take ourselves up to the outlets and do some hotels. They have this great shopping outlet South of the Strip which has excellent prices for name brand stuff. I got a couple of shirts for next to nothing but since we felt that there was more to see than spend time shopping, we didn't really spend a heap of time in the centre.
Did Caesars Palace and were totally wrapped with it. What a fantastic place to visit and not what was expected, we found that the prices of goods in the shopping forum were very reasonable. Not the price of course of the outlet centre, but certainly not Double Bay prices. Actually, clothing here is so cheap and the quality is excellent.
Funny thing, the town doesn't come alive until about 10.00 coz that is when the shops open. Probably though, people are also still asleep from gambling all night long though when we came down from the hotel room - staying at the Stratosphere - before 0800, people had already started - or were STILL - gambling! Not only were they on the slots, but even the tables were up and running! I wonder how much gets lost here.
The Stratosphere, where we are staying, is the tallest building in Las Vegas and it is the first landmark that is visible even from way out of the city. At the top of the hotel they have these crazy rides that throw you over the side of the building. Yeeuch! Jude and I went up to the top to the observation tower but getting up there was an interesting experience. Firstly, there is security to pass through - like with the airport - X-Ray machines and metal detector. Then, because our Jude is afraid of heights, as we were going up in the lift, she grabs my hand and squeezes like heck! I wish she had cut her nails before she tried that! At least she did it though. However, on the observation deck, she wasn't prepared to go near the window! Great 360 views which allow you to look beyond the city into the desert. A strange sight to see this enormous city in the middle of the desert. Apparently there are some 4,000-6,000 people moving to Vegas every month. Must be for the employment.
