I immediately liked this quaint little town; grand old buildings with peeling paintwork, worn cobble stoned streets, cowboy hats & boots, and the smell of fish around the river. I wandered for a couple of hours after arriving, which is all there really is to do here, but enjoyed it nonetheless.
Believe it or not, I did manage to find a bar, it appeared to be the only one in town, tiny and almost as old as the few patrons within it. The senora served only beer, and only one kind of beer (Tecate), but it came in either a can or a stubby, and it was cold, so there was no complaining.
After I feasted at a nice restaurant on local Black Bass caught from the river I passed earlier, delicious, I strolled the streets some more. In doing so I noticed an increasding presence of police as the night wore on. Someone then stumbled into me when exiting a much rowdier bar than the one I'd been in earlier, and I noticed several more loud watering holes further down the street. It seems that this quaint little 2 horse town, is in fact more of a red-neck scene than first appeared. Yet I relinquished myself to an early night.
