The weather was still a bit dreary in Vancouver, but I decided to head to Granville Island for afternoon and have a look around. The Island is within an easy walk of downtown Vancouver. The walk takes you over a bridge with an aerial view of the island. The island is small but has plenty of charm. The heart seems to be a busy market, with lots of places to get food and coffee.
I then headed back to Tricia's place. Today was her birthday, so we went to an Ethiopian restaurant for dinner. The food was actually pretty good. We basically had a big platter to share, with a few different dips on it, some of which are quite spicy. Accompanying are some pancakes, which have quite a heavy spongy texture. Eating with your hands is the order of the day! We also shared some honey wine which was delicious. We then headed out to the bar in the Samesun Backpackers, where Tricia works for a few beers.
