This morning I took the Icefields Parkway back down to Lake Louise. I was relieved that winter road conditions were "good". However, it rained all day and visibility was poor. I was pleasantly surprised, when a few minutes down the road, I came across a group of Elk. (Presumably the same group I had encountered in Jasper) When the car in front slowed down they decided to cross the road and head into the trees. It was nice to finish the visit to Jasper, seeing them in a more natural environment.
I stopped at a few different spots along the parkway. Including Bow Summit, for a view of the beautiful Lake Peyto. And also the view points for Bow and Crowfoot Glaciers, and Numa Falls.     As it was only 2pmby the time I reached Lake Louise, I decided to drive the long way around to Golden, through Kootenay NP to see if there was any wildlife about. My only spot was a couple of deer by the side of the road. However, they were soon scared off as some cars drove past at high speed. By the time I got to my accommodation, I was glad to take off my soggy shoes and clothes, and have a nice hot bath!
