So after another long bus journey from Siem Reap, we pulled up to KhaoSan road only to be greeted by the madness of Songkran. Songkran is the celebration of the Thai New Year and it lasts from the 13th to the 15th of April. It is basically the biggest water fight known to man. Every single person is out and about and has a water-gun, a hose, or a bucket of water and the entire purpose is to get everyone and everything wet. So we actually managed to negotiate our way safely to our guesthouse to keep our bags dry and made it fairly unscathed.

The next day was spent at MBK shopping centre, since all the regular stalls along Rambuttri and KhaoSan were closed due to Songkran. It was a long day of shopping for goods to bring back home but we got it all done eventually.

Sooner rather than later, the morning of the 16th rolled around and we were off to the airport so C could catch her flight home to Canada. We had a great 6 weeks travelling together and had some amazing times, and even a few rough ones, but that is what makes travelling. I'll miss you C, it was really fun. I've said everything I need to say to you, and I look forward to coming home.

It was tough to say goodbye when I have been feeling a bit homesick, but I went back to KhaoSan after the airport and regrouped for a day. After all I needed to get ready for the madness of India!
