Well we left Bangkok on Monday night at 6pm on the 13 hour VIP sleeper bus. Somewhere along the way the 13 hour VIP bus turned into a 16 hour 2nd class terrible old bus. It was a night that seemed to last forever and it was really really difficult making it all the way to Krabi.

We were stuck in a bus with no A/C and the heat from the engine being unbearable on our backs. We had absolutely zero leg room, no recline. We were tired but could not sleep, it was one of the longest nights of my life.

HOWEVER, we made it through the night all the way to Krabi, and now we have learned our lesson about not taking buses anymore. The VIP bus seemed legit, but what they advertised and what we got were two completely separate things, so that is a mistake not to be made again. At least with the trains you know what you're gonna get.

On to the better part of this entry.

Krabi is fantastic. When we arrived we chose to go to Ao Nang beach, the most common spot people visiting Krabi go. We didn't have any trouble finding a nice bungalow and we settled in.
Krabi is magnificent, the beach and cliffs are amazing and the relaxed town life is enjoyable.
We've done a lot since we have been here. A day trip with snorkeling to the 4 islands, which was really good, snorkeling and seeing tropical fish for the first time in my life was really great. We also found the resident band of cheeky monkeys down at the end of the beach. They are amusing, they climb all over you and steal your food. We were both robbed of bananas and peanuts on two separate occasions. We've watched some amazing sunsets, the best I have ever seen by far. We have also done a sunset snorkeling trip, followed by dinner by tiki torch on Tup Island, and today we have just gotten back from a day trip to see the Phi Phi Islands and some more snorkeling around that area, and it was also a very interesting trip, and Phi Phi really is as beautiful as everyone says it is. There is also an elephant that wanders around town at night, so that was a surprise looking up from dinner one night!

I must also mention that the massages are awesome. Right on the beachfront a nice 2 hour massage to spend the afternoon is pretty nice! All for about 7 bucks! Great fruit shakes too! Yum.

Tomorrow morning we are heading to Ko Lanta!

We have both heard good things about what a relaxed place it is and the great beaches of course!

That is all for now.
