From Napier today our destination was Mount Maunganui, a little suburb of the bigger city of Tauranga.

On the way we visited Taupo for some people to do some skydiving, and then back through Rotorua for a lunch stop. Oh the sweet sweet smells of Rotorua, how I missed them.

Leaving Rotorua behind we made it to Mount Maunganui in the afternoon and got a tiny bit of good weather for a change which was nice! Our stop for the night was a gorgeous place, a thin little stretch of beach leading out into the ocean with a big hill right at the end of it surrounded by water. After we arrived, I knew I had to climb it so I ran from the hostel to the base of the Mount (30 mins) then hustled my way up to the summit (30 mins) It was fairly rewarding because the views we're quite spectacular and it was interesting climbing up the trail since there were sheep grazing on the hill right beside the footpaths. It was a fairly unique place, and I really enjoyed it here. Another hour back and darkness was starting to fall.

Quiet night, as I get ready to leave for Auckland in the morning. Hard to believe I have been in NZ 3 weeks already and am leaving for Bangkok in a day and a half!
