Made our way to Queenstown yesterday.

Had a lot of great stops along the way including Lake Matheson and AJ Hackett bungy. This was the birthplace of bungy jumping and we got to see a few jumps and a few people from the bus went! I've done it twice in Whistler so decided not to do it, but still enjoyed being there.

After the long day we got into Queenstown and I met up with my new Swedish and French friends in our hostel we had booked from Nelson. It is always way nicer getting to a place and knowing everyone in your hostel room already. Our hostel was crap so we spent the night partying it up at another nicer hostel with some other friends.

Today I've done a bit of exploring. It is no wonder they call Queenstown the adventure capital of the world. There are endless options as far as adventure activities here. It is actually a very small resort town, very much like Whistler. It is right on a lake and I decided to take advantage of that fact and booked myself for a jetboating experience.

I went with a company called Skippers Canyon ( )
and I'm happy with my choice. We had a 45 minute ride out to the river with some amazing views of The Remarkables, some famous mountains used many times for the LOTR movies. (Yes, NZ is very proud of the LOTR) We basically offroaded in 4WD along some extremely narrow roads cut very high into steep cliffs to get to the Shotover river. Once we fianlly made it, we had a great 30 minute jetboat ride, taking us right through the Ford of Bruinen which was a famous scene from the LOTR (Yes, NZ is very proud of the LOTR).

Lots of 360 degree spins at high speed and blasting through a very shallow river on a jetboat is quite an amazing experience! These boats are quite amazing, they pump out 250 litres of water a second so basically sit on top of the water, so there were pioints where we the water was 2 inches deep and we flew right over top of it. Pretty amazing!

I'm taking it easy for the rest of the day, might go out and experience the Queenstown nightlife again tonight.

Bye for now! Miss you all!
