Today was a day for a history lesson.  We drove to the Kennesaw National Historic Battlefield.  This location was a key turning point to the end of the Civil War.   There was a museum, short film and trails out around the battlefield and bunkers that could still be seen today.   If you remember the picture from yesterday's blog from the top of Stone Mountain, it is hard to imagine how any battle was fought given how thick the trees are and rugged the terrain is.   Half the battle was up on the several hills/mountain peaks.

After the tour of the battlefield we took in our next Diner, Drive-in and Dive the Marietta Diner.  This is a classic silver clad 24 hour diner run by a Greek family.  Portion size was not an issue.  The leftovers should feed us for the next two days.  Joel tried the recommended matzah ball soup followed the BBQ platter and Shelley had the homemade chicken pot pie.  No one mentioned it was the size of a whole pie.   The food was great, so another good stop.

Back to the trailer to pack up and continue heading north.

Sounds like you are having a blast! Are you out of Pepto yet? Or is it not needed? From the pictures, the food looks good!
Take care!

Actually the food has been very good. The problem is the portion size they serve. One order turns into three servings. The DDD's have been a little harder to come across than we planned. They really are off the beaten path. We did stop at a few "diners" that should be on the show. If we get the courage up there are a few BBQ joints around here that we might try out.
