We went over to the National Park HQ, but ran out of time to take a tour of his home. We did watch the movie at the HQ, which I would recommend as it gives the house some historic significance.
We started Day 2 by visiting the Harry Truman Presidential Museum and Library in Independence, MO. I thought the museum was fascinating. It succeeded by telling the story of his life where both my boys and I could relate. They had a ton of actual "artifacts" there like his WWI gear, to the bible he took the oath of office after FDR's death, to the guns the attempted assassins used. They also had a life size replica of the Oval office how it was set up during his presidency with real artifacts in there as well. They had plenty of interactive displays to entertain the kids as well. There's a courtyard in the middle of the complex where President Truman and his family are buried.
