Me: The best in the world!!

Well hello from Bannf but thought I would catch up on a few entries!

I previously mentioned that Vancouver is an amazing place and with it chewing over a week of my time I really did fall in love with it. With both Nick and Chris beside me we discovered a particular bar that became "our local" and to be honest when we were able to walk in and the bar staff new what we wanted to drink and greeted us like locals who had been going there for 10 years - it was definitly time to move on.

So what was done in Vancvouver land??? All I have to say is Stanely Park. With a burst of energy (spent the previous day doing nothing) Nick and I decided to hire a couple of mountain bikes and find out what this place had to offer.

As for the bikes, they were better quality than imagined for rentals with those suspension things on the front I looked rather cool!! With no real plan of attack we flew down the mainstreet and avoided being cleaned up by a car or a car door as a matter of fact. Then we hit Stanley Park - I had read a fair bit about this place but the words do it no justice.

Stanley Park (I assume is named after a guy called Stanely) is a mixture of city, beach and forest all within about a 20km looped path - amazing. Once Nick and I had worked out which direction you had to ride in we blended in very nicely with the 15 thousand other people rollerblading, cycling, running, walking or doing whatever.

And this is why Vancouver rocks, everyone was so outdoorsy and it really reminded me of Melbounre in more ways than one!!! So we rode and rode and stopped at every PO (Photo Opportunity) and ran off some film.... kicked back near English Bay for some lunch and then head around the West side of the park to where all the forrest area is - quite an amazing place to be exercise...

So what do you do after a big day like that find the nearest bar and order 6 corononas in a Ice Bucket. What do you do when you knock back 3 beers each in record time - jump back on the bikes and TRY and ride home without getting killed!!

Hard to explain Vancouver, but the people really make the place. Even though we were hostelling in a dodgy part of the city the people (and bums) were really cool.

Anyway going to keep this one short as not much was really done in Vancouver except just people watch... Stay tuned as Whistler and Banff are the next stops on the agenda.

Take care

P.S - Can someone let me know if my parents arrived back ok from Spain??? Appreciate it
