Mekong Delta

Saturday in Vietnam. We started off early from the hotel and made our way out of Ho Chi Minh City towards the village of Apah Thanh and the city of Vinh Long, both along the Mekong Delta. Once in Apah Thanh we hopped a boat for a cruise along the delta. It's really beautiful, green and very tropical. Hogan had made arraignments for lunch at a local guest house. Elephant fish, Spring Rolls, Pork and on and on and on......I can't put into words how good it all was. I have thrown caution to the wind and decided to eat and drink everything..It all looks so good....I'm just going to take my chances. Everyone else is, were just waiting to see who gets sick first. Thanks to Hogan for his outstanding Vietnamese and getting us by. After lunch we continued our cruise along the delta and ended up in Vinh Long, and the Saturday outdoor market. I wish I could upload more than 5 pics, I think I took over 200 today. Well, were back at the hotel now and getting ready to party tonight!!! Hogan has us hooked up with a couple of locals. We fly out to Hanoi in the morning....
Oh yeah and the trip would not be complete if Hogan didn't have a photo shot somewhere...where else but a rice patty(see pic)...It was a short one, people began pulling over....they thought he was a movie star..HA!!

that is just too classic Hogan, first of all the Red Sox hair-do is working for you, certainly drawing a lot of stares from the cyclists.. you're going to add to the already high statistics for motor vechicle accidents there ;-) trip looks amazing so far and must admit the elephant fish didn't look half bad. I have been put on bedrest so I'm enjoying your updates! big hug to Hogan! Can't wait to ... show all

please take care of hogan...no more tramping around in rice paddies..he could trip over something...u know, like a rice kernal...looks like u two r having fun...i just finished cleaning my garage...we are both having the same amount of fun, right? pepper
