So I have been urged by a certain someone:) to update what I have been doing recently. I have not been able to update in the last few days because I have been on Easter holidays. Basically, Kiwis use this as an excuse to have a vacation and do whatever. As such, for the last few days I have been sailing and kayaking and swimming in the waves of the Pacific. Until a few days ago I have never been on a sailboat and now I have had a lot of practice. I have developed quite the tan after being out on the water. We have been heading out to the boat at about 11 and then sail to an island that is about an hour away. There we have a lunch, and cupa (yes one word) tea and then we hike on the island. I saw wallabys! They are not native to the area however this island is the only place that you can see them in New Zealand. Pam and I also went through Governor Grey's mansion. He was the first governor of New Zealand. Grandma will appreciate this, you can essentially touch everything in a historic site, so I was touching books and trunks and what not from the 1800s. I am a dork yes. Sailing is quite the experience. The boat tips with the wind so it is not uncommon to be standing up even as you are sitting. Tom and Pam are quite impressed that I was not screaming when the boat tips like this. Today we went to a BBQ which was fun. I drank a lot of Kiwi wine and ate a lot of food, and now am basically typing this up. I miss home, but this lifestyle certainly does not take a lot of getting used to. A happy Easter to all, love
