. Beautiful scenery and mostly gentle waters. A few rapids but not too big. Our guide serenaded us with Jamaican songs all the way down the river.
On our return journey, we asked if we could go to see the famous Montego Bay. The guides agreed, and a little more money changed hands. We passed the beautiful old historic house called Greenwood, and its surrounding sugar Plantation. The house was built by Edward Moulton Barrett, grandfather to Elizabeth Barrett Browning (famed English Romantic Poet). The land was later bequeathed to her and her family. From there we drove through all the sites of Montego Bay and even got to have a short swim at the famous beach. We also saw where two James Bond movies were made. All in all a fantastic and exhausting day. We were both asleep at 8pm that night, and woke with new muscles we didn't know we had.
Today an adventure tour with 4 Aussie friends. The name of the tour is "Secret falls" and river tubing. We weren't sure what to expect, but wow!! what a day. Our tour guide was Audrey and our driver Owen. Very Jamaican and loads of fun. Firstly they taught us the 4 most important things to say while in Jamaica. YeahMon! (Yes and okay), Eh Eh (shaking head means no), no problem and IreMon! (She'll be right). Then we headed off on a one hour drive to the falls. Once there, we donned our swimsuits and met our guides. They then demonstrated a huge dive off a cliff by the falls, and said that is what you are going to do. We of cause said YeahMon! No problem!! Needless to say we were taken to a lower ledge and there we jumped into the falls. For the next hour and a half we dived, jumped, swung, crawled and climbed. Through caves off water falls and under them. Amazing. We then left this area and headed down in the van to a lower part of the White river. Again out we got and met our guide. We were given a tube each, and we set off down the river like a snake all holding hands
