First night in Portugal - World Cup Fever!

After traveling from Tulsa to Chicago to Amsterdam, I arrived in Schipol airport to discover that my flight to Lisbon was not just delayed...but canceled. This would be the start of what later became a theme for me on this trip - on-time flights were more rare than seeing cheetahs on the savannah. After being re-routed through Oporto I finally landed in Lisbon, and just in time to catch the World Cup semi-final game between Portugal and France. The Portuguese colors were everywhere - and Samar and I tried to find a bar in the Barrio Alto where we could catch the game. Unfortunately nowhere offered a great view since the crowds had formed long before we had arrived. Unfortunately again there wasn't much for the red-and-green clad crowds to cheer for so we gave up and found a place to have dinner.
