After arriving in Majorca had to wait for a transit van to come pick myself up and another guy that was joining the ship that day. It's about 15 m minutes to the ship he says. It wasn't too long after I landed that I realized something very important- my spanish is appalling!!! I haven't practiced since high school (and I won't mention what year I graduated- so if you know great, I'll hurt you later- just kidding). I tried to remember some of the spanish that I was taught, but it's so basic, a 5 year old would speak it better than me, and they themselves are only just learning.

As we're driving around Palma, it's GORGEOUS! I look to the left and there is the harbor with tons of cruise ships, yachts, cruisers, amazing! On the right is the HUGE stone building. I asked the driver what it was and he said it was a cathedral and the building attached to it is where the big political people stay when they come into town! IT'S HUGE!! Biggest cathedral I've ever seen, and I've seen some whoppers in my time! I had to take a picture of it, which I will post at another time!

After we turn go along the road about 2 minutes later, we take a left onto the harbor and I see the ship- GINORMOUS!!! It's 12 stories high and only 2 of them are below water level! OMG!!! Sure enough, since I've been here, I've been getting lost- pretty much everytime. It's funny but also annoying when I have to wake up early in the morning to be somewhere. I don't have to wake up as early as normal because i'm already where I need to be, just need to go up a few stories, but that proved not to be the case. I, in fact, still need to wake up an hour before being somewhere just to give myself time for getting lost and finding my way around. I am getting slightly better. I know my way from my cabin to the theatre, and other important areas like the staff mess. Very important. Having to share a cabin at the moment until the STage Manager before me leaves, but after that I get a cabin to myself. The girl I'm sharing a cabin with at the moment is named Nataly and she's Ukranian. Very nice girl, we tend to stay up if we both get back around the same time and have nice long chats. She's lovely and probably helping me adjust to ship life by not letting me be alone for the first week. As of next week, I move into the stage manager's cabin which will be just me, which is good because I work weird hours, sometimes late nights, sometimes followed by early mornings, and she's on a varying schedule as well so it's hard to come in sometimes and try not to wake each other, but we're doing ok so far, and it's really helping me adjust.
