Hello Everyone,
We are still alive though we've been inaccessible the past several days. Now remember the last couple entries, we've been nowhere so how much technology can there really be nowhere, right? In nowhere it's about simplicity. After writing the entry Sat night I had a twinge of quilt for calling Marathon nowhere. (However, you can see I've gotten over it.) The beauty of being nowhere is that people are still people. We went to a church of about 30 folks and actually sang Jesus Loves Me, as a hymn. When was the last time you sang Jesus Loves me in a church service surrounded by anything other than our knee-high companions. It was beautiful and simple. People welcomed us and were tickled that we blessed them with a visit as we trek across this great big county (not too mention great big TX.) Jody, my new friend from the pew in front of me (pop. 455) enjoys coming to the big city, as she and her husband own 80 acres out in the real middle of nowhere. I just love people and having the opportunity to stir things up a little b/c of my northern accent (they can tell I'm not from these parts.)
We've had a busy week. We met Willa in Comstock with a population too small to list. She is in her late 70's and selling her general store and moving back to the Dallas Fort Worth area. Her dream is to sky dive one day soon. We met BJ in Camp Wood (pop 878) and she owns the Sweet Shop (a good person to be-friend don't you think?) She taught 4th grade for 15 years in Del Rio but decided to move back home and pursue her hobby of a bakery. She strolls to the bank still wearing her apron and yelling across the street at all the locals. And then there's Alex (dad thinks that's what his name is.) from Sanderson. He suggested the local eatery Dairy King (not to be confused with Dairy Queen. This fine Establishment's cuisine also includes tacos and burritos.)
So much to say. I wonder if this site could withstand all that I would like to tell you all. Thank you for prayers. There's no question the line to God is working and effective. He's so good. Mom was having trouble with her shoulder/back area. It was so painful she was willing to go to the hospital. She wasn't looking forward to the experience but was thoroughly blessed. The hospital folks were super special and God gave us the perfect person who seemed to be able to diagnose the problem and she's already feeling so much better. We are grateful to God and we know He's got us in the palm of His hand.
One last thing. We saw a zebra in a field this morning before we got into Hunt, TX. Not something you see everyday, hey?
Love you all.

My Hero Heidi
I think you should write a book when you get back & call it: 'Finding God in Nowhere, TX'. All the little details you relay are just so great, I almost feel like I'm there with ya...though you'd know if I was, I'd be all weighing down your bike saying 'C'mon, can't you go any faster than this??' :) I know you probably have heard this a ton, but I am just so proud of you girl and so blessed to have you as a friend! Stay safe & cool and know your WAVA girls are praying for you & missing you at our Friday 'lunches' ;)
Love those small towns
Hey, you're near Fredricksburg. Looks like you're almost home. :) I agree with you that some of the best people, and friendliest, live in the small towns. (There are a couple folks in northern Virginia who are the rare ones, also.) With nothing in front of you but God and the road, you can see how great His glory truly is. I can't wait to hear all your stories and see your pictures.
Prayin' for ya.
Robert
