Sydney, Australia March 6
Our visit to the Sydney area lasts 6 days. We are staying at the Glenferrie Lodge in Kirribillie, a short ferry ride from Sydney Central Business District. Coincidentally, the Prime Minister of Australia lives on an estate just a block from our lodge. His house commands the best view of Sydney Harbor. As for us, our entrance into Sydney Harbor is no less than spectacular as we hop the ferry for a short ride past the Sydney Opera House on one side and the Harbor Bridge on the other. As we enter the harbor the first day, the cruise ship, Statendam, is in port, adding to the picturesque site. The Harbor Bridge Walkers, tourists who dare to climb up and over the arch of the bridge, are in view all day and into the evening. Keith is content to walk over the bridge road and up into one of the bridge towers for his views, especially since they do not allow any photography equipment on the arch tour. One day is spent with the parents of our nephew's wife, Mac and Margo, who take us north of Sydney to Avoca Beach. Australian surfers and families are out enjoying their Sunday afternoon.
