I did so much! It was a good 'embrace your inner tourist' day.
I found a cute, little place for breakfast and then happened upon a mass service in a beautiful, little church. My Spanish is definitely coming back, slowly. I would hear a word like "mientras" and my brain would go DING! I know that one. That's not Italian. That's Spanish! Afterward I wandered over to the cathedral, which is free on Sundays. I went in but we weren't able to go past a certain point by the entrance. I peered around and realized there was a mass going on and almost at the end. I told the guard that I was running late for mass. Sweet, I was in. And I had a double helping of holy host. That's got to be a good thing, right? Later I walked by the cathedral and the line was around the block!
I then walked over to 'Habanita' a vegetarian cuban place. I got utterly lost. Actually I was right in the right place I just kept missing the little alley way. In fact at one point I saw the sign for the restaurant but only a portion of it and thought to myself, "that looks cute." But, the walk did wonders for my appetite. And the food was so incredible. I don't know why I hadn't thought of researching the vegetarian restaurants in each city earlier. But I'm glad I've figured it out! I think I'm going to try another this evening.
Then I was off to the Alcazar. I took a TON of photos there. I loved it so much I even bought a 10 euro book about it. However, I have a bit of buyer's remorse (because I know I'll never read it) but the photos in it are still worth it. So I need to get over it. Which I'm doing. Sort of. I'm so cheap.
I'm back now at the hostel. I just changed rooms; I had originally only booked for one night. But I'm relieved about the change. I did not like my previous room. And the new room seems good so it is all working out.
Okay, off to dinner. Photos to come!
