Where I stayed
Copenhagen Denmark was very cool. It is a cozy smaller city than most of the places we have visited.
We are staying in a hotel called 'The Imperial'. It is very nice; the room is by far the largest hotel room we have stayed in. We were upgraded to the Superior Room. Big and spacious room, with an office area, along with a pretty big balcony just off the side of the bed. Too bad the weather so cold and rainy, we couldn't enjoy the balcony very much
Our first day here, we walked around the city, getting a feel for how it is. We went to the Botanical Gardens, but because it being winter, all the plants are dead now. It was a big park with a big pond/small lake that was half frozen. I'm sure it is beautiful during the summer. While walking around the busy streets, we spotted a food stand that made crepes and got a crepe with Nutella. This was Josh's first time having Nutella...Yummy!!!!!
We visited the "Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum" and the "Guinness Book of World Records Museum" which were both about the same thing. They both had fun, interactive exhibitions inside that were entertaining. See the picture of Jamie next to the worlds tallest man (wax man in this case), and Josh sitting in the electric chair.
We also did the "hop on hop off" tour bus which is always a easy way to see the main attractions of the city, and to get a quick history lesson.
Last night we went "all out" and had a blast on our last night...we saw two live music shows and visited 4 pubs and returned home around 4:30am...Very fun
Copenhagen is a very clean and safe city with very happy inhabitants. Taxes are very high here in Denmark, but the people that live here do not mind them at all because of the wonderful benefits that the people receive...such as; free medical, dental and education!! We were told that at least until the age of 18 all these are payed for by the government effectively saving families a huge amount of money.
We would definitely want to re-visit Denmark sometime in the future...preferable in the summer, But this country has a lot more to offer than we could see in just 4 days.
For now it is off to HOME SWEET HOME. Thanks to everyone for the comments and the love...we miss you all and will see you very soon!!!
Love Josh and Jamie.
