So we finally arrived in Amsterdam after having a full day of traveling.  The train ride was only supposed to be 6.5 hours from Berlin...but we ended up getting on the wrong train, and had to navigate ourselves back to the main train station, then we had to sit in the McDonald's for about 3 hours because the next train going to Amsterdam left 4 hours after the one we missed...BUT we got there safe and all was well, but it took about 10 hours total.

We stayed at the Movenpick Hotel while in Amsterdam (thanks for the help finding that one Chad).  It was really nice and a great location right on one of the main canals in the city.

As we were exiting the train and trying to find out hotel this really nice man basically led us all the way to the main road that we needed to find...The Netherlands already had a nice and generous feel to it!!

While in Amsterdam we visited the Heineken Experience (first of course), we visited the Anne Frank house (really cool), the Van Gogh Museum (just OK), and we did the Canal bus which is the same type of "hop on, hop off" tour bus like we have been doing but it was a boat that cruised through the cities many canals!! Very Fun.

The Anne Frank House and Museum was our favorite activity, we literally walked through the house that the Franks took hiding in!!  It is preserved well enough that the pictures that Anne put up on her wall by her bed are still there!!  Hearing the story again and seeing the place where they lived was quite an experience!

The last day that we were in Amsterdam (today actually) we attempted to rent bicycles and ride around the city like all the locals do, but after waiting 45min for the bike shop guy to return from lunch we became restless and just decided to take the city tram into town...we only had a few hours before we had to goto the airport anyway.

Overall Amsterdam was a blast!  It was Josh's first time there and Jamie's 3rd (but most favorite) time.  Although we did visit the red light district we tried to experience the other wonderful things that Amsterdam has to offer, and there are plenty.  It is a charming little city with tons of history, eccentric people, lots of water and millions of bicycles.  Out of all the cities we have visited, we ranked it 2nd to Interlaken, Switz.

Four more days and we are back home again...kinda yeaay, kinda Ugghhh, already?
