Where I stayed
So we arrived here in Berlin Germany on the 17th. So far we really like it!!! Its a tourist-friendly city that is full of life and movement. Being Germany's capital, you could imagine how many people live here and how large the city is! But almost everyone we have tried to communicate with does speak English so that makes getting around A LOT easier.
We are staying at a cool hotel called the Park Inn, which is a HUGE tower style hotel that has over 1000 rooms!! It is conveniently located in one of the city centers right next to a metro station, train station, and tons of shopping and eateries. Our room is really cool too; we are on the corner of the 14th floor, so we have a breathtaking view (when it's not snowing) out of two directions! As you can see from the pictures of our room, the shower is located in the center-ish of the room with glass all around...kinda strange, but different, and interesting
Yesterday (the 18th) we set out to see the "Hitler" and "Holocaust" monuments, and exhibits. We took the metro over to the area and we found some cool buildings and monuments, but we did not fill Jamie's interest to know more about that time period and events...So today (19th) we are taking the "hop on, hop off" bus all through the city! It should be very informative and these tour buses really help us to acquaint ourselves with the orientation of the city. The only downside is ITS FREAKING SNOWING LIKE CRAZY!!! Well Josh does not mind it so much, but Jamie is bundled up like an Eskimo, again!
BTW, our cell phone is on and working again, just in-case anyone was needing to get a hold of us, feel free to text, call, or G-mail chat (cheapest).
We miss you all very much...although we ARE having the time of our lives seeing all these beautiful and wonderful cities/countries, we are looking forward to being home again.
