We enjoyed our three days on the Sunshine Coast in spite off the heavy rain.  During our last 24 hours 180mm fell in less than 24 hours.  Driving up to the Glass House Mountains to see the views was rather pointless as we were driving in the clouds. However, coming across a large Kangaroo on the path was a great surprise, more so for him than me I think.

We returned to Brisbane for one final night with Cath, Brett, Jannah and Georgia and one more night in the Caravan of Love (our first caravan experience, amazingly comfortable).  It has been so wonderful to catch up with Cath after 16 years and it has had me thinking about how wonderful friendship is that it can last 30 years even though we are living at opposite sides of the world.

For our last few days in Oz we had opted to return to Sydney and spend more time in the lovely suburb of Manley.  We can see the main Manley Beach from our room and enjoyed the 11km walk to Spit which includes breathtaking scenery and a number of small secluded beaches with crystal blue water and no people.  Amazing that from Manley you can commute to the centre of Sydney via the Manley Ferry in only 30 minutes.

For our last night we had booked tickets to see Alan Bennetts "The History Boys" at the Royal Opera House.  What an amazing night.  The Opera House includes a number of venues and the play was in the Playhouse.  It was very funny (better than the film), but to see it in such a spectacular venue made it so special.   We enjoyed our interval drinks on the terrace of the Opera House looking over the lights of the Harbour Bridge, Circular Key and the City.

It feels quite strange to think that we will be back home in just over 24 hours.  There are obviously many thing we are looking forward to, but getting back to normal life will certainly take some time.

What an amazing three months we have had.  We have seen some amazing things, met so many wonderful people and found some real treasures.   I thought that 2 months in India would get the country out of my system, but all it did was create a greater longing to spend more time there.  We discovered some great new areas which we would love to return to.    Australia has been a great surprise to me.  The reason for including Australia was to see my dear friend Cath, I never imagined I would love the country as much.

Biggest thanks have to go to my wonderful husband Terry who has been such a great travelling partner.  I know I am a very lucky lady!
