This one's pretty targeted at my university friends - mostly for the pics. But we know me...I love to write.
Jay you're safe - Slutty can't ask "Jay, when are we gonna go do that again?" - she was there for this travelpod!
University reunion - 5 years since we graduated. How does that happen? It seems like yesterday and eons ago all at once.
Jen flew in from Calgary. YAY JEN! She's one of my funnest friends in the whole world.
Raygs and I pulled up (2 hours late) for brunch at Morty's.
Football. My second game ever, I think. Really it was about the alumni tent and running into all kinds of random faces that we mostly recognized. Every now and again we'd look up to see the score. We knew enough to cheer when people in the stands were cheering.
We were there for this.
We were on our way back to the hotel when some kids drinking beer on the lawn stopped us. More drinks weren't completely necessary but as mature alumni we thought it best not to be anti-social with the current students. Raygen ran into some former (and one current) students of hers - "Miss Rogers, I've never heard you speak English before!" (or seen her smoking, or drunk at 4 in the afternoon).
We stopped a van in the street caught a ride with a random family of Waterloo alumni (and never did establish why they were in Laurier gear and at _our_ homecoming)
Cops at our hotel room door at 4 am. And again at 5. What - are we in high school?
Being back in Waterloo was weird. Not quite nostalgic - I don't wish to return to that life. It felt weird and normal to be there. Rote memory led us through campus. I don't want to be back in that life. Raygen and I talked about how difficult it was to wrap our heads around the fact that we'd lived there for four years of our lives 5 years ago. Both of us did cool stuff during that time. Both of us have done cool stuff since. University was amazing. Some of my best friends are from University. They know how to find me, and I can find them.
I'm glad we went back. I'm glad I've moved on.
The brown dog barked. Jen wants to live at 202 Regina.

01_It's barely noon
Jen and Barry had been drinking since 11. Drunk Jen attacks hungover Joanna with the biggest hug in the world. Man it's good to see her. A couple more drinks and Jen agrees that I should drive her parents' "giraffemobile" to the hotel where we ran into the rest of the crew. I attacked poor Matty, who I've known for...oh gawd...14 years. Matty! That's half our lives! Football. My second game ever, I think. Really it was about the alumni tent and running into all kinds of random faces that we mostly recognized. Every now and again we'd look up to see the score. 02_Barry - you wish those were yours!
. Jen was like "where were you guys?". There was no coherent answer to that. We started getting ready and Raygen and Jen refused to let me out of the room in a t-shirt. Jen gives me her black top and insists on the pink hat. Raygen's like - I'm doing your make-up. Which is why I look like I do in the above pics. Completely out of place and not myself. Except that being out of place kinda is myself. I had a blast. Cops at our hotel room door at 4 am. And again at 5. What - are we in high school?
