Entry 7 of 13 | show all | print this entry

So Saturday I get my first full day off, from 9.30am til 1am....I can't wait! They messed up the rota this week so somehow I've been put on four evening bunk duties and Anne only has two, meaning I haven't had a break from the kids for 2 straight days...it's been a nightmare!! Everyone had to get in their bunks early last night because a storm was approaching, it took ages to settle all the kids down, there wasn't any thunder or lightning...or anything...but they kicked up a hell of a fuss! Can't wait to have rest hour off from duty and the evening off, even though by half 9 when evening duty starts I'll probably be ready to go to bed! Was a bit teary this morning because someone, I'm guessing it was Charity, told Marcy, one of the directors, I've been feeling up and down. She came and had a chat to me about it after I finished help coach basketball this morning and was really nice, she told me she'd make sure that I had more time to myself and more time off than I've been getting. Everyone's really nice but archery, karate and gymnastics all have only one instructor, meaning that even though we're part of the landsports dept., we don't get the same help and support that the other instructors do. It can get quite lonely up on the archery range or in the gym hall by yourself day after day,  that's why at least once a day I try and help out the other instructors doing lessons like basketball and softball....which strangely enough I enjoy!! Nothing here is particularly bad, there are far more ups than downs, I'm just pretty washed out at the moment as I haven't had any time to myself, but I get some today and I get to go to Portland for shopping and beach chilling on Saturday, so I have a kid-free day to look forward to!! Tonight I think I'm gonna go down to Midway and watch movies and play foozball...wooo! I found out I'm not the only kid-disliking instructor too. Yesterday I was supervising the buddy board for the swim department...it was so hot the kids got water sessions all afternoon..with Pru, and for two hours we sat there bitching about kids and how we never want to work with them again! Hahahaha, why I let myself in for this I have no idea, but I'm learning new things everyday and I'll be a better person for it and all that palava so there ya go!

I haven't got time for personal emails as this is my only free lesson of the day so I'm gonna post up questions I have for people:

Mum: How did the bootsale go? How's Omar? Keep me informed of the Op date. Need               your postcode too.

Chin: Jelly Babies. Please.

Ryan: Erm...not a lot there, just send me an email and lemme know what's the dealio.

Anyone else who happens to be reading this feel free to send me messages and lemme know the gossip, the weather,  the news, anything about home!

Well .... seems you're holding your own girl - don't let the little buggers get you down!

Weather here pants - been raining since you left - seriously, we've had about 2 days without rain and major flooding in the Midlands. Oh and a few bomb scares in London and a 4x4 on fire driven into Glasgow airport, and a concert for Diana (bless) - apart from that GB is fairly non-eventful.
