Entry 4 of 13 | show all | print this entry |
Hey guys
Well I've been busy as hell the past few days, this is the first 20mins I've had off since Friday night!! I went to Wyonegonic Camp for the archery course Saturday morning, really early so I wasn't looking forward to it! There were 14 of us, I met a Welsh bloke, an Irish bloke, a Scottish girl and an American girl who were all really nice so we hung out for the two days. The instructor Marcia was awesome, she was a bit nuts but really built up my confidence in my archery skills and taught us some good drills and safety procedures...I even managed to pull off teaching a sample lesson! Some of us went off camp when we finished our homework after dinner the first night and had a drive around for a bit, I wanted to stop at an icecream parlour or see a drive in movie but we couldnt find any...little did we know a big blues festival weas going on in the next town across! The camp was crap though, it was really cliquey, there was no electricity in the bunks either and the toilets were miles away! There was no room in everyone elses camp when we first arrived so me and Ashley, someone on the archery course, had to go into a 12 bed bunk on our own, it was awful! I woke up in the middle of the night and I've never been somewhere so dark, I had to wake her up and make her walk to the toilet block with me! I managed to pass the archery test...88%..woo...so now I'm Camp Pinecliffe's official archery instructor!!
I got back yesterday after lunch and found out I'd missed out on a staff party, which sucks! Our rest hours have been cancelled for the past 3 days too because it's getting pretty hectic around here! Found out I've been allocated bunk counsellor for the 11 year olds...we call them the Pines...Anne and I have 9 girls and we have a new bunk so it's pretty cool and the counsellors get their own bunk section. Yesterday I came straight from the course and had to spend the next 3 hours making beds and unpacking all the girls' stuff which they send before they come to camp..and they each have at least 2 huge duffle bags each! It's insane how much these girls bring to camp! We were so knackered by the end of it, I should've taken pictures, i didn't even have time to unpack my own stuff!
I'll update you on Doctor Bob...my god Americans love their group therapy sessions...when I have another few minutes spare...got a date with a bowstringer and also a trip to the local boys camp for a social tonight to prepare for! It'll probably be tomorrow...think I might have a half day off.....woooooo!!!
