Sorting the car out was easy.  Jeff spent some of Friday night looking on the Internet for a car - found one - so bought it on Saturday :-)  As most of you know, we don't wait around!  Jeff and I were more than happy with the purchase, another Golf, a car that we are both comfortable with both love.  So that was that part sorted!

Next...........where to live??  We first checked out the area around Titirangi, as that was an area that we had spent time researching before leaving the UK.  We had lunch at a little cafe in Titirangi - the food was good as was the coffee.  The area around Titirangi seems to be on the edge/in the rainforest and there are lots and lots of beautiful trees and ferns.  It seems to be an arty area with lots of artists and craft type people living in the vicinity and has a relaxed feel - whether this is the case, who knows at this point!  We had the opportunity to chat to a couple of staff from two estate agents to get a bit more information.  We even found a property which we quite liked but obviously need to tread carefully before jumping in with two feet!  The west coast beaches are not too far away either.

Sunday was spent at the other side of the harbour bridge on the North Shore in the pouring rain looking again at potential places to live.  We headed to Brown's Bay and chatted to another estate agent and got more advice.  This area is closer to the water but certainly doesn't have as much character as Titirangi.  Both areas will involve leaving early in the morning to avoid the traffic.

So many highs and lows over this weekend - one that I don't think we will forget.  We are certainly very happy to be here, but as always are impatient to have everything sorted.  It feels very strange going from the security of two jobs and a nice house to one job - all our own doing we know :-)  No one said that it was going to be easy..................let's see how we will feel after being here for 6 months :-)
