We had spent many times talking about how it would feel to wake up in Auckland the morning after felt strange.  In fact we felt almost shell shocked, perhaps made worse by the fact that we had been in holiday mode for the previous 6 weeks!  We skyped with Mums and Dads aswell as with Fiona and Ross before setting forth!

Lucy and Daniel spent the day with Maureen, Emily and Issy with Maureen's friends in Titirangi, which was fantastic, as it gave us a chance to start getting things sorted.

We headed for the bank to sort out accounts, to buy a mobile phone as our UK ones will cease to work from next week and to sort out basic paperwork for Jeff's job.  We also ended up doing the mundane jobs like emptying rucksacks and washing!  Of course we had to leave time for our daily coffee shop visit!

It struck us today that every family who moves here needs a check list to work from.  We have read many books prior to the move offering lots of advice, however, on arrival what we need is a general list of what we need to do and when.  All of the information is readily available on the Internet or on the end of a phone, however, this can take such a long time.  We are really looking forward to catching up with another family who moved from the Midlands a couple of months ago to get any advice that they can give - it's amazing that the smallest snippet of information can make such a difference.

All in all a good first day, lets home that this will continue.......................
