We woke up to an overcast sky and rain!!  Not what you would expect in Fiji, particularly after studying the Lonely Planet on the plane!  After laying in bed pretending to be asleep and hoping that the rain would pass for about an hour we gave up and went for breakfast.

Wow!  What a breakfast, the best one of the whole trip, everything you could imagine and for FREE!  After spending quite sometime in the restaurant we decided that the rest of the day would be spent by the pool, until the sun came out to play.

The kids absolutely loved it, although I must say it was a little cold.  They swam and swam and swam and Lucy made good use of the water slide.  Dan kept saying he would give it a go but decided that another day would be better.

After spending a large amount of the day by the pool and in the pool relaxing we had generally worked out the ins and outs of the hotel and the fact that the children could eat for free if they ate at certain times as well as a free kids club and movies in the evenings...............we would have to give that a go!  We also very quickly realised how fantastic the Fijian people were with children - so kind and loving, and the children seemed to really like the added attention.

By mid afternoon the sun was starting to shine so we decided to give the reef a go so borrowed snorkelling gear for me and Jeff and the children got to use their new gear.  They absolutely loved it although Lucy got to see far more fish than Daniel as he soon got very cold and wanted to sit out of the water, wrapped in a towel.  Although there wasn't lots and lots of coral, on the clumps that there were, were a huge variety of fish.  Lucy and Dan were squealing down their snorkels, it was lovely to be a part of this :-) something the children had never done before.

The evening ended with a lovely meal in the restaurant, once the children had eaten, they went to watch a movie, so it actually meant that Jeff and I got to spend a little time, just the two of us.  A very rare event on this trip.
