I decited to take it easy for a day and make my way to Vanua Levu the next day. In the lobby of the hotel I met a couple that were waiting for the boat to caqelai. A little island not too far from here. I though about going there but as it was sunday I was told there would be no boat. But, I was wrong and quickly packed my bag to join them. Half an hour later I sat on a small little boat on my way to an Island you can walk around in about 15 minutes. On it was one little resort (read a few sheds) which let me put up my tent on the beach. There where a few intresting characters including Peter (German) who managed to stay on this island for 7 weeks already.

I snorkeled on some coral reefs which where absolutely amazing. Never before have I seen anything like it. Not a single spot was just rock or the same color as the spot next to it. All fish seemed to have a competition who can present the most colors on their body and they took pride in showing themselves to me. In about 50 cm of water I ran into a big 1.5 meter long snake like fish with big teeth. I couldn't stand up and run off as it was just coral beneath me. So after a face-off, I turned around and made way for Mr Fish. A bit further down there was a drop-off where I could not see the bottom. Again, just corals and colerfull fish. After about an hour I made my way back to shore and joined for lunch with the rest of the visitors.

Some chats, swims and walks around the island concluded the day. What a great way to fall asleep with the sound of the ocean just a few meters away.
