Laying in bed this morning, I was convinced I could see sunshine through the gaps of the shutters. Unfortunately, it was still cloudy when we got up - late.

After breakfast and chilling out for a bit, we decided to head for Josa Ignacio - which is a village with a reputation for being expensive and exlusive and a great beach. When we arrived, it didn't look that impressive at first - we were also hungry, so looked for a restaurant. We found one on the beach - it didn't have a menu outside, it was packed and the dress of the people suggested it would be expensive. It also had chauffeur parking. We didn't even bother going in, but headed back into the village and found another restaurant.

I decided to order a "Chivito" Sandwich - a Uruguayan speciality, as the ingredients looked good - meat, bacon, cheese, tomatoes, eggs, olives, onions, mayonnaise and fries. Lizz informed me it was goat meat - always a time for a first. It was a thin meat and tasted really good - Lizz had a taste too and liked it. Two days later, Lizz had a confession to make - she confused the word Chivo (goat) with Chivito (the sandwich) which contained a thin steak slice. I wonder what goat really tastes like?!

Later we went back to the beach as it was brightening up. The beach was nice and big and could see the attraction of the place. There were lot's of dead crabs on the beach which gave an unpleasant smell though. I decided to have my first swim in the sea (and the last). It was freezing. There were some big waves and a few surfers out there too - with wet suits!!!

On the way back we stopped at Punta Del Este to watch the sunset, had a nice meal out again, then went to bed more hopeful of a nice sunny day tomorrow.
