Where I stayed
The Spa Hotel, Royal Tunbridge Wells
We were really taken with the medieval town of Rye as we drove in past the famous cobbled Mermaid Street and the historical black and white tudor houses
Simon had to see the coast so we headed to the next village and braved the windy, stony beach. Photos were taken and alas the brand new camera was left on the bench overlooking the sea. We didn't realise this until we arrived at Battle, 30 minutes away to relive the famous 1066 Battle of Hastings. It was straight back to the beach only to find the camera had gone so we headed off to the police station to report another loss. At this point the day couldn't get much worse.
It is our last night at the hotel so we all summoned up the strength to really enjoy our special three course dinner in the renowned Chandelier restaurant at the hotel. Genevieve and Felicity looked beautiful in their dresses. Aside from overcooked tuna which the head chef had a fit about when I returned it because he was so ashamed that one of his staff could produce this - and he cooked another serving for me which was perfect - everything else was delicious. We are off to repeat some of today, again tomorrow to capture a few shots on the second, new camera which we will purchase in the morning. Thank goodness for the few I Phone shots.
