We get into the boat and the sea has a sizable swell and it takes an hour to get to our first snorkeling site and almost braking our backs in the process with the constant jarring but it is definitely fun.
The water here is crystal clear and about 30 feet deep, there is un spoilt coral reefs and the fish are plentiful and multi coloured.
I have some trepidation at first but get engrossed with the snorkeling and the peacefulness of the ocean.
Next we head for the island of koh rok and have lunch there which has been prepared by the crew and is tasty as anything Ive had so far
On the island we are disturbed by 5 feet long lizards Clouded monitors and the scare some of the children which was quite funny if I'm honest as they don't exactly move to quickly...
The island was hit by the 2005 Tsunami and has height markers where it rose to and basically covered the Island, It has recovered now but there are sirens installed for an early warning but only only 4-5 minutes.
Next we head into deeper water and 2 baby dolphins are spotted at the bow of the boat and it is such a treat to see, they follow us for some time and when we stop we all jump in to see if they are around but unfortunately have moved on but the snorkeling is still good and were brought a huge Anemone of purple and grey and covered with black spikes, dangerous but beautiful.
On the way back the skipper lets one of the young Americans drive and he loves it, later the skipper gives us all an experience never to forget and bad backs to match as he manages to catch every wave over 2 feet and slamming down with a bang.
We all have smiles when he drops us of at our beach and go and have a few Chang beers at the house watched a superb sunset and went out to a dive of a restaurant, called sweet and sour, with a band playing that looked as high as kites, the order all came together and wasnt that nice but spirits were high and was a funny end to a great day.
