We dropped the campervan off yesterday and moved into Dad and Julie's for the next week. We quickly took over the washer and fridge and were given run of the bedroom leaving them sharing an inflatable matress.

Our first proper day in Kelowna so we decided to explore a bit more. It was a bright, sunny day so we headed into town and to the lake. With blood caffeine levels at a low we stumbled across a cafe called the Mad Mango. Looked groovy so we charged through the doors to be greeted enthusiastically by a lady who herded us to a seat and promptly stuck a menu in our hands. Turns out we had completely misread the place. Intending to go in for a coffee and some late brekkie we ended up with Malaysain pancakes and chicken noodle soup! She was a lovely lady and very persuasive. Turned out to be lush food so we weren't too disappointed.

With bellies full of fat and sugar - the staple diet of North America - we went for a walk along the promenade which runs along the lake. We had our photos taken with 'Ogopogo' the Kelowna equivalent of the the loch ness monster (but looks alot friendlier).

They go mad for Halloween over here. Everyone decorates their houses and some of the pumpkin carving is almost art
